Privacy policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

QuietPath is run by Resonate Consultants Pty Ltd, ABN 86 152 097 955 ("Resonate", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through the QuietPath website (quietpath.com.au) and app (app.quietpath.com.au). It adds to Resonate's company privacy policy. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Account details. Your name and email address, and your company and phone number if you give them. Your password is held by our sign-in provider (Google Firebase Authentication) in a form we can't read.
  • Project information. The addresses and locations you search or pin, assessment names, the drawings you upload and anything else you add to an assessment. Drawings often carry personal information, such as an owner's name or address in the title block.
  • Quote and report requests. The contact and project details we need to quote for and prepare your report.
  • Usage information. Which pages and assessment steps you use and for how long, your browser and device type, and your approximate location based on your IP address. Our own usage logs record your email address against this activity.
  • Feedback. What you write in the feedback panel, any screenshots you attach, the page you were on, your browser details and recent error messages from the app.
  • Correspondence. Emails and messages you send us.

You can browse quietpath.com.au without giving us any personal information. You can use the free check without an account. You need one to request a report.

How we collect it

Mostly from you, when you create an account, use the app or contact us. Some is collected automatically as you use the app. We also look up public data about the sites you search, such as property boundaries from Geoscape Australia and planning controls from NSW and South Australian government services. That data is about the land, not about you.

How we use it

  • To run your account and the QuietPath app, including the free check.
  • To quote for, prepare and deliver your report, and to contact you about your project.
  • To send account emails, such as email verification and password resets.
  • To help when you ask for support, and to find and fix problems.
  • To understand how QuietPath is used and improve it.
  • To keep the records we need as a professional engineering consultancy and to meet our legal obligations.

We don't sell personal information. We won't send you marketing emails unless you agree to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

Resonate staff working on your project can see your assessments. We also use these service providers, who handle information on our behalf:

  • Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) for hosting, sign-in, our database, file storage and usage analytics.
  • Resend to send account emails.
  • Microsoft for our email, if you write to us.
  • Geoscape Australia for address search. It receives what you type into the address box.
  • CARTO and Metromap for map images. Like any website that shows a map, they receive your IP address and the map area you're viewing.
  • NSW and South Australian government mapping services, which receive the coordinates of the site you're checking so we can show the planning controls that apply.

We only give your information to anyone else, such as a council or certifier, if you ask us to or the law requires it.

Information stored overseas

Some of our providers store or process information outside Australia:

  • Google (Firebase and Google Cloud), which may process and store data wherever it has facilities, including the United States.
  • Resend, in the United States.
  • CARTO, in the United States and Europe.

We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Keeping it secure

Your information is stored with Google Cloud, encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you and authorised Resonate staff can see your assessments. We keep project records, including drawings and reports, for seven years after the project, in line with our professional indemnity obligations. After that we destroy or de-identify them. We keep your account until you ask us to close it.

Cookies and browser storage

The app stores information in your browser to keep you signed in and remember your settings. It also uses Google Analytics for Firebase, which sets cookies and similar identifiers to measure how the app is used. The quietpath.com.au website itself doesn't use analytics cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though the app won't work without browser storage.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can update your account details in the app. To get a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, or close your account and delete it, email info@quietpath.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some project records after your account is closed to meet our legal and professional obligations.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, email us at info@quietpath.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
