Aircraft noise reports for new homes near airports
Look up any NSW address for free to see which aircraft noise contour it's in. If council needs a report for your DA, upload the drawings and one of our acoustic engineers will prepare it in days, not weeks.
Start with the free check
Search an address or drop a pin on the map. QuietPath shows the ANEF contour the site falls in and whether a new home there is acceptable under the Australian Standard for building near airports. Where the council has planning rules for aircraft noise, you'll see those too, with links to the LEP and DCP clauses.
Near Sydney Airport you also get an indicative range for the loudest aircraft flyover.
Designers and builders can use it before a site is bought or a design is settled. Councils and certifiers can use it at pre-DA enquiry. There's no account to create and nothing to pay.
Check an addressWhen you need the report
Upload the architectural drawings and confirm the address. Floor plans, elevations and sections are enough to start; window and door schedules help if you have them. That's all we need from you.
One of our acoustic engineers prepares the report in Resonate's standard format, ready to lodge with your DA. If the design doesn't meet the standard, the report sets out what has to change.
Reports are a fixed fee per dwelling. You can request a quote in QuietPath once you've checked the address.
Made by Resonate Consultants
QuietPath is built and run by Resonate, an Australian acoustic engineering consultancy. Every report is prepared by one of our acoustic engineers.
If your project is bigger or less straightforward than a typical house, we'll say so upfront and quote it as a consulting job.

Do I need an aircraft noise report?
Usually, if the site is inside the ANEF 20 contour. Councils near airports generally ask for one with the DA for new homes and substantial alterations. The free check shows your site's contour and the council's rules. Your council or certifier makes the final call.
What is the ANEF?
The Australian Noise Exposure Forecast. It's a map of forecast aircraft noise around an airport, drawn as contour bands (20, 25, 30, 35 and above). The higher the number, the more aircraft noise.
What is AS 2021?
AS 2021:2015 is the Australian Standard for building near airports. It sets which types of building are acceptable in each ANEF band, and how to design the construction so aircraft noise inside stays within set levels.
How long does a report take?
A matter of days once we have your drawings. We'll confirm the timing with your quote.
How much does it cost?
A fixed fee per dwelling. Check the address in QuietPath, then request a report to get a quote.
What drawings do you need?
PDF architectural drawings: floor plans, elevations and sections. Window and door schedules help if you have them.
Which airports do you cover?
We prepare reports for sites anywhere in NSW. The free check maps the contours for Sydney Airport (ANEF 2039), Western Sydney International, Newcastle Airport and RAAF Williamtown, RAAF Richmond, Cessnock and Scone.
Other states are coming soon. If your site is outside NSW, email info@quietpath.com.au and we can still help.
Will council accept the report?
The report follows the Australian Standard (AS 2021) and is prepared by a Resonate acoustic engineer. Approving the DA is always council's decision.
